Assa Abloy AB, formed in 1994 when it separated from Swedish security firm Securitas AB, is a conglomerate delivering products and services from locks, doors, gates and entrance automation. Assa Abloy AB software controls identities with keys, cards, tags, mobile and bio-metric identity verification systems. Also in 1994, Assa Abloy acquired VingCard, an international producer of hotel locking systems. VingCard's Visionline software, introduced in 2006, provides hotel operators a wireless locking solution based upon the highly secure Zigbee open platform specification. Visionline provides demanding properties a solution with security and control and efficient front-desk operations, while utilizing an online mode through Radio Frequency (RF-online) design.
