Kaba’s Saflok-Otis Compass integration solution brings sophistication security to guest and living environments

NEW ALBANY, Ohio — June 24, 2015 — Today, braXos Security Software released a case study detailing its work on an innovative security solution for Metropolitan at The 9, by integrating the hotel’s Kaba Saflok and Otis Compass systems.

The Metropolitan at The 9, a member of Marriott’s Autograph Collection Hotels that offers residential living space in addition to guest rooms, sought to connect its Saflok and Otis Compass systems in order to integrate them into one seamlessly functioning security platform, as well as provide guests and residents with one keycard that controls access throughout the building. braXos, utilizing the Steward platform, designed and developed Saflok and Otis Compass Connectors, delivering an integrated solution that enhanced the property’s internal security technology to a new level of sophistication.

“The goal of the integration was simplicity,” Mike Demitrieff, IT director at Metropolitan at The 9. “We wanted one keycard per guest that handled everything. Since the system has been up and running, it has been very easy to control. With this integrated system in place, configuration is easy and we haven’t experienced any downtime with our elevators or keycards.”
The case study outlines Metropolitan at The 9’s challenge to create the highest level of hotel security by allowing or disallowing access throughout the property for guests, residents and employees and how braXos’ innovative solution helped them integrate into a unified hotel security system leveraging the Steward platform.
